Y'know, the folks that ran the event were good people, the wood and water was fine, but the SITE!!!! While I realize that it is hard to find land, the parking lot would have been a better site, even next to the road. The ambiance was provided by the 1.5 old house trailers, one half of which still had clothes in the closet, old motor homes, and a dozen or so old cars and trucks within a hundred feet or so of the camp, right in the open, and at the main gate, another mobile home complete with satelite dish and a barn collapsing!!! While I have always maintained that a rendezvous could be held in a Kmart parking lot and by Wednesday everyone would be having a good time, this was a National event, and I thought that site approval was part of the plan!!! There had to be better ground nearby, and there is always State land to look into. I know that the staff underwent some drastic changes in mid-stream, but this ground was pretty bad for a "National", and shouldn't have gotten a second look from the Foundation!!!
