I dont care for the Laid back ear on my New Engander hammer......Does anyone make a replacement hammer with the tall ear like on the older T.C Hawken percussion locks. Is there one I could buy and fit........Like a Lyman Great Plains hammmer?..............Thanks

I don't...you might call and ask TC's repair department...they might have an old style hammer tossed in a box of odds & ends they might scrounge up.

Also check with Dixons...I was able to find some old style sights there...he scrounged around and found them scattered loose in a parts drawer;

Same thing with Ed Cain at Cains Outdoor in West Va...big TC and GM dealer...may have an old style laying around in a drawer;

Also check the big auctions weekly...see old style locks for sale there pretty often...occasionally I've even seen a separate hammer...even if you have to buy a whole used lock it's not bad idea to have a spare lock on hand during a shoot or hunting season...if Murphy's Law is going to strike, that's when it'll happen.
