Some points I don’t entirely agree with but thats just personal preference.

The paragraph on what to do with an under seated ball jamming the cylinder rotation was particularly interesting. It would never occur to me to “fire” the Colt with out the barrel. What holds the cylinder in place, the bolt?
My solution, on more occasions than I’d like to admit to. Is simply take my pocket knife and trim the lead ball flush with the cylinder mouth.

Lubrcation. I’d never presume to argue with a man who has a home recipe for lubricant named after him that can be found on numerous web sites and forums. I keep it simple with vegetable based oils and bees wax.

Accuracy. I actually shoot better with my percussion revolvers than I do with any of my auto loading pistols and many center fire revolvers also. That may be due to more frequent use of the black powder guns however or the fit of the single action grips even.

I just went back and read the entire thread from 2006. (I thought it was a sticky on the first pass). It’s getting responses 😁
