one or two bolts for Mule ear lock?

I originally planned to just have one bolt for my Mule ear lock but now Im thinking 2 would be better due to the leverage in the way its applied to the hammer. What do you guys think? But then again I cant see how to do 2 and not have the forward one block off my ramrod hole

Use two bolts. It take a lot of stress off the wood.

Can't you put an 8-32 machine screw between the bottom of the barrel and the ramrod hole? you should have about 3/16 between barrel and ramrod hole. I think that a #8 machine screw is about .164.
