Hi Guys,
I was recently considering making a gun from a TOTW kit that was very similar to this one. I thought maybe I could skip the work and go for the instant gratification! What do you think? Have any of you heard of Gerald Taylor? Does he make a good gun? What do you think about English fowlinging guns? How prevalent were they in their time?
Thanks,
Taylor in Texas http://www.trackofthewolf.com...=12&subId=81&styleId=284&partNum=AAB-998

Nice gun, very late, 1815 to 1825. Very short pull at 12 3/4". I hope you're short. :winking:

Do all English sporting guns have short length of pulls?

all the original english fowling guns I'vre owned over the years have pulls from 13 1/2" to 14 1/4"

Mr. Texan,
Might like to consider how you will be dressed when firing the weapon. For instance, if you happen to be hunting in subzero temperatures, the 12 3/4" length of pull might be very accommodating to the thickness of clothing you might be wearing.
Best Wishes
