Original mountain rifle. 54" overall length. 39" barrel about .45 caliber. Beautiful tiger striped maple. Brass mounted with 4 piece patchbox. Double triggers, lock, and patchbox release all work as they should. Time for someone else to study and enjoy this rifle. Would like $450 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states.

Silly question probably because I’m new to this, but is this in fireable condition? Also is the stock cracked towards the front or was that how they were made? I’m pretty sure I’m only an hour from Kempton and would pick it up

Not a silly question at all but I don't collect old firearms to shoot them. I collect them for their historical value and to study and appreciate. Not my area of expertise. You would have to figure that out. Personally I would not. There is a sliver of wood missing on the fore end as you see. Was not made like that. Happened during its useful life. If you are interested in a face to face deal I would of course reduce the price. Thanks for your interest.
