This is a drop dead gorgeous .62 fullstocked "Hawken" style rifle. Stocked with the best grade of Tiger Maple with German Silver fittings. Buttplate is more of a Late Lancaster style. Bob Roller percussion lock. LOP is 13.5 ". The 39.5" straight taper barrel is 1.13" to 1" across the flats with blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight. Twist around 1:70ish. Patented breech. Rifle weighs about 11 lbs. Sadly, the builder did not sign the rifle. It has been suggested that this is a percussion rendition of the “Super Hawken” that Ashley had Jake and Sam Hawken build for him around 1823 to keep the natives off his keelboats. His was supposed to throw a 1 oz ball from a barrel 3 1/2 feet long. A beautiful big bore rifle needing a stout shooter to put it to work. $1600 + Shipping.
