What do you guys do when you have a 1" tang in a 15/16" barrel? I filed the bottom of mine flush with the flat and beveled the edges slightly. I'm guessing that on the top part of the tang you wait until it is bent to proper shape and inlet properly, then file the top flush with the top. I guess I'm wondering whjat you do with the width on top, where is stickes out to the sides slightly. Bevel? Leave it as is?
Also, how tight is "tight." My breechplug faces up to both the shoulder and rear of the barrel, but I didn't have to get medieval with the wrench to get it there. In fact, I only had to use an 8" adjustable rather than the 12" wrench that I bought. As I recall, I could turn the plug by hand to 3 flats before the desired flat. Once the plug was home, I tried to turn it out with my fingers and only wound up with some sore fingers. I recall reading a post (Zonie, I think) about the dangers of overtorquing, so I am hoping that the torque is just right and I have a low crush factor.

File them to fit the width of the top barrel flat at the breech and flare it out or round it off at the tail depending on the style of rifle yer building.
