Is there anyone who could help me with information on this pistol?

The barrel is marked P. Bondini made in Italy. The pistol is extremely well finished, the lock and trigger is also very well made. It is a very accurate reproduction of the pistol shown on page 64 , plate 96, in the book "Hawken Rifles The Mountain Man's Choice" by John D. Baird.

I have two barrels one in 54 caliber and the other in 58 caliber for it.

Anyone know when it was made and how much they sold for. Any information at all would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe they were sold years ago by Track of the Wolf. I could be wrong. My suggestion is to call them and see what they say. I know they know what it is. I would love to have one myself.

Bondini is gone now, but the company built several pistols of good quality. They were sold by a couple of sources--I think in the 1980s and early 1990s. Bondini is probably best known for the Gallyon 12 gauge percussion shotgun. You have a very nice pistol there.

I picked up one of those in the mid eighties. A friend of mine won one in a drawing. He offered it to me at half price since he didn't have a .54 and knew I had a Santa Fe. I bought it from him for $65. At the time I think that was about half retail for it.

It has always been a great shooter, much better than the operator.
