We have never understood how a man can be mistaken for a deer by anYeah, I'm not blaming the victim. I'll also not assume someone wearing camo does so to be cool. The guy who shot was wrong. This statement above is akin to saying, if I left my keys in the truck and someone steals it, I've ruined their life. The shooter made the wrong decision and took a wrong action.
That is absolute fact! The problem is the woods are full of bad hunters. We have never understood how a man can be mistaken for a deer by anexperienced, intelligent hunter as the two look nothing alike. A good hunter understands the importance of shot placement. To execute a precision shot placement one needs a clear target picture on the game.
Because it's my choice, plain and simple. No different than someone riding a motorcycle without a helmet. If it's legal and they choose to do it, then whats the problem? It's not illegal to double load your gun?
It's not illegal to go out in sub zero weather naked?
I dont think it's illegal to jump off a building?
It's not illegal to do a lot of foolish things.
Please explain the virtues of refusing to wear orange?
Legal should not be the deciding factor.
It looks like it's going to change for the bow hunters. They'll be mad.

This is effective camouflage for deer as they do not see orange. It breaks up the human outline while making one visible to other humans.
Many states are now like Montana where during any rifle season for big game you have to wear 400 in.² above the waist that is connected. You can wear more, that is the minimum. I've been involved with Hunter safety for 55 years, and from Record-keeping, that was the biggest protector of hunters than anything else that we could do. Originally when I started bow hunting, you had to wear a red something while hunting. I don't know when that was changed, probably in the early 70s.I am all for wearing blaze orange during firearms season, be it public or private land. I also think that wearing camo during firearms season is irresponsible. But I do not believe in mandating orange to be worn. I think that the slob hunters will be of the mindset that - I see movement, I don't see orange, therefore it must be a deer and it is ok to shoot
