I have made 3 of them. Real easy, I don't make a full holster, just a half. Usually two pieces. Also made a couple of holsters for my cap&ball, I make them full length. ON the half holster, Body is 16" long and top opening is 9-10", bottom opening is 5" My Jukar .45 Kentucky fits this. Dilly

Not a Kentucky, but sorta close, I like this cross-draw holster I made for my Great Plains Pistol. Works with the belt hook on or off the pistol.

The best way I've seen is to extend the leather up over the nipple so you can lower the hammer onto the leather, then draw the hammer back as you draw the gun out.
