Just thought I would share a little tool I made from a small antler tine. Inserted a vent pick on one end and installed brass bristles on the other. I find it easier to brush off the fowling from the pan than to use a damp cloth. Quick and effective.

Nevada, sometimes 8 to 10 % humidity, and it rarely rains. That is why I have lived her my entire life, save for 3 years of military service overseas.
 
Good use of the antler. With the 132 mph winds over your way on Mount Rose ( the other day ), you might not even need to brush the pan...
