I had a couple of "almosts" but this is the only one I bagged. I think this season will be different. Yeah, I know it's a hen but who cares, right?

Hansi, what is that?

That's one ugly bird. If all the hens in your neck of the woods are that ugly no wonder there's no Gobblers around.

I think he's pulling our leg...looks like a decoy complete with wire legs and a few chicken feathers stuck to it, LOL.

I saw a resident flock of them back during deer season so I hope there are a few still around next month:

It tasted kinda "flat", to be honest. But it sure beats a tin can at the end of deer season.

Correct, rb. It actually worked on one occasion; but being "one dimensional" it had to face juuuust perfectly in the right direction. Organic or not, it was the best I could do last year. :rotf:

My 1st Flintlock bird taken in Nov. 2012 with the 16 GA. FOWLER and turkey calls I had recently made.

Can't wait, ready to GO!!! Taking a young man for his first on Youth weekend, so I hope he gets a shot and yes, I am pushing him to use my old double 12 blackpowder. :)

Here are some previous gobblers:
