Patch recovery ?

Assuming all you really want is a few to see if they're working,,, I've done this 2 ways on a patch riddled range. Both use a Magic Marker.
If the ground is dark and your patches white, use a flourescent yellow Hi-Lighter to mark a few before lubing to tell your's apart and to pick them out easier.
If the ground is light, use the black marker. That stands out well too.

Suppose one could tie a string to it before loading and the other end to the guard. :nono:
 
Testing. I know exactly what I am doing. What I don't know, is how to EASLY recover each and every patch as fired. Best idea yet, is to fire into hanging cloth sheet at app 10'. All I care about is the patch condition.
 
You did good!He may have forgotten where the patches landed; however, you can bet he will always remember that day a nice young man took him to the range.
 
Either dye the patch, use a different color and maybe add a profound scent to the lube.
