My 32 cal load chart calls for .310 RB with .012-.015 patches.
I would like to use Hornady #0 buck at .320 dia.(bore), what patch should I use to make up the grooves? Can RB be paper patched, I could go smaller w/#1 (.300)?
Thanks :)

There's no definite "chart" answer. Start with your chart and work up and down until you find the most accurate combination for that particular gun.

I use a .311 Lee mold for my .32's and pillow ticking patch.20grs 3ff. The mold is two cavity. My buddy used buckshot in his .32. What I didn't like about the b-shot was the little dimples on the shot. Don't take much lead to run off a batch of balls, just did 50 the other day. Be set for rest of the year. Shot last 4 gr-hogs,4 shots. Dilly

I use the exact same load with the same Lee ball and have most excellent results. Wouldn't change at all.

I use .310 hornady pillow ticking I bought at a yard sale and 15 gr.s FFFg triple7. Haven't shot anything alive yet. ........................watch yer top knot

#1 shot is just too small and will rattle down the bore unless use use a very thick patch. I don't know if they make canvas thick enough to patch a .300 ball in a .32 cal rifle. You can go to a .320 ball and use something like a .010 patch. The problem with the thinner patches is that they are prone to burning through. I used 0 buckshot in my .32 but I was able to use a .012 patch that I lubed well with Bore Butter. I had to use a short starter with a large ball on it so I could load without hurting my hand when I was whacking on it with the heel of my hand to get the ball started. It worked and shot well. If you can use a .310 ball and a .015 patch, you should get good performance from your gun.

Here's a little extra info in case you want to give it a try. I use leather wads over my powder for best accuracy. I punch out the wads from 6 to 8 oz. leather and soak them in Balistol. I then let them sit out and dry for a few days before using. I found them to significantly improve the consistancy of my muzzle velocity. A more concsistant MV results in improved accuracy. Just something to think about. If you want to see my data, let me know and I will send it to you.

It's been years (and years) since I bought a 5 lb bag of 0 buckshot for a .32 (my flinter was later stolen and only the kid's rifle remained and he out grew it quickly).

Will dig thru the old stuff but pretty sure that bag of 0 was .315.
