Dixi gun works has one for sale,A couple of the auction sites have some for sale also..Pietta made some and so did uberti..

They are still out there for sale. I know of a gun store in Kalamazoo Mich. "On Target" has one for sale. can't remember the price since I am not in the market for one (I have mine). I don't remember the manufacturer either. You could give them a call and find out. Sorry I am not much help.

I'm THINKING about picking one up just so I can strap it on for the Rondy one of the clubs that I belong to runs, since they are a pre-1840 Rondy type-club  .

I did run a hand gun shoot last June just to break the ice some. Some guys had flinters, and single-shot cap guns, and some like me had revolvers. Everybody got-along and had fun, once everybody showed-up.

The Patterson would be HC though :) .

I believe Pietta still makes the Paterson. Uberti did make one, it requires and special four fingered nipple wrench that can cost $60 or more IF you can find one. Pedersoli made the Paterson, major $$$. You can find 3rd gen Colt Patersons, may require a second mortgage to buy it.

Pietta made two barrel lengths, here they are.

Dixie Gun Works has em listed on their website -- $600+! That's a marked jump from their last year catalog.

Thanks Parson! Way back, 30 years or so ago, one could still get parts from Navy arms. I managed to find the Baby's cylinder somewhere (.31 cal) still had some engraving left. The rest is completely scratch built. Back then, I had an old electric motor with some kind of disc I used to grind out the interior of the frame. The recoil shield I chucked in a drill press and turned against various files. Crude as the devil but probably as much machinery as the originals were made with. Used the Navy, of course, for patterns. No clue as to how many hours I have in each. Never had my hands on an original, but I'd guess you'd be hard pressed to interchange parts from one to another without hand fitting.

The middle gun is a Navy Arms, the top and Baby are my 'homemade'. Love Patersons!

Very nice, I really like the baby. I have seriously considered cutting one of mine down.

The only one I ever actually saw was in the Smithsonian, long ago. At the time, I thought it was about the neatest gun I'd ever seen. Compared to the larger versions...to me, it just feels good in my hand.
