I make a bunch of longbows and am just starting to try to build a longrifle. Of course I haunt all the bow building sites and caught this link today on one of the bow sites. I use both the #49 and #50 and found them to be really surperior for rapid wood removal. I paid $45 for my first #50 rasp from Woodcraft and about $25 for my next #49 a Jamestown. It appears Jamestown has them on sale again for almost half the normal retail price. Though I would pass the info on to you guys.

Good link.

Any gunstocker will not go wrong with these rasps, they are the some of the best for shaping wood that is then easily sanded or scraped to finish.

Thanks, Those are some nice prices for Nicholson files  Usaully its hard to find good files at that kind of price.
