Wanting to turn my TC Hawkins into a full stock early style with my green mountain 54 cal barrel in flintlock, already have the L&R exchange lock.

Has anyone purchased the walnut full length stock for the TC Hawkins from Pecatonia? Maybe another stock maker for doing this mod?

If so how is the stock in length of pull and drop? I am a big ol galoot with long arms. Almost all my stocks wear leather lace-up pads for the extra inch in length.

Thanks for your reply's.

To be frank, call them on the phone and ask the manufacturer. They make the stocks and they will be honest with you.

Zonie had very high regards for them, they are the only stocks he used.

If you get a stock from them, it is best not to have the lock inlet done and do it yourself. If you put an L&R in a TC lock inlet you are in for a bumpy ride to get it fitted to the right place, this lock is far from a drop-in. A lot of pre-carves have an incorrect lock inlet placement for any lock, it is best to inlet the lock yourself.

I purchased the half stock TC Hawken replacement stock and the original TC parts are a remarkably accurate fit. I expect the full length stock would be the same. I ordered maple but the wood species should not matter.

The only part that requires any significant work is the butt plate, which you would want to do yourself in order to get the LOP you want.

Thanks for all the replies. I have used the L&R lock on my Renegade. It needed more relief under the plate for the spring and deeper on the tumbler but guess I lucked out. Mine was pretty close. Fun project.

I even filed off the drum, plugged the channel, drilled a New touch hole for the new liner and wallah very fun and reliable shooter. And fast ignition as well.

I have an Email to them but my next step will be a phone call. Thanks again.
