Has anyone built one of these actions or have any experience they can pass along? At Friendship last month I looked one of these actions over with Dick Greensides of Pecatonica and I really got excited about a late percussion rifle built on this action. He can also supply the wood. They're made for a 1" barrel. I'm thinking possibly of a 1" tapered octagon but a straight barrel might aid offhand shooting. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

Dan: I have drooled over that action, too. One of the guys who shoots long range (1,000 yards) at Oak Ridge, Tenn., has one of those actions with a fast-twist Green Mountain .450/.458 barrel on it for shooting conicals and likes it.
