Does anyone know if the Pecatonica Tulle replicates any particular version of the gun? Or is it an interpretation of the type? How accurate of a reproduction is it? Would it cut the muster at a strict F&I war reenactment? For ALR persona?

I'm not trying to abdicate my responsibility for researching, in fact I've ordered Bouchard's book, but I would appreciate any guidance this board could provide. Thanks.

Why don't you E-mail them and ask?

They have a web site and are glad to answer questions. They are also very specific about what they will do to which of their guns to insure as much control over historic accuracy as possible. I would say their "kit" would be as accurate as an.

You may have trouble contacting them before next week, they are at Friendship right now. I bought three stocks from them Tuesday.

I have not seen their gun but there are few "correct" French fusils around but most offered will past muster, many use the L&R trade lock which I think is to flat on the bottom of the plate, the RE Davis Tulle lock is good with some cosmetic alterations all are scaled down from the typica 6" plate of most originals, most use the iron furniture found on Canadian guns of the 1730 period, the barrel should be walnut unless you have a story about having to restock the gun, barel should be 43-44 inch but most offer 41 or 42, you can put together a close copy with TOW parts or a very good one from the Riffle shop, but most of the pre-made ones are usually considered OK, there has been little effort by builders/suppliers to offer a good well researched French Gun but lots of claims to have one available.
