Can anyone tell me if the Pedersoli Brown Bess bayonet is supposed to have any stampings. I bought one and cannot find any markings.

Looks like no one wants to talk to you . I have one for myself comming soon 2 to 3 weeks I will let you know if there are any stamps on mine when it arrives

The Italian-made reproduction bayonets come with no stampings, some have had marks applied by others but in general they are completely void of markings. They are made of untempered, soft steel and any marks desired can be applied if an owner wants to.

Lemme know how they look/fit. Am looking for one for my '77 Charleville....

any one tell me why they are so expensive? hard to believe a simple spike bayonet can be worth $200! :shocked2:

i wanted a bayonet for my 1842 springfield but at that price i could just buy another pistol.

You want an original or repro 1842?

Repros cost about $100-$125 and originals can go from $50 to $250. Also there are French Bayonetts that fit the 42 and are almost identical. I bought an original French one for $30.

Thanks,
