The bounty hunter has been around for the 30 years that I have been in muzzle loading. I first saw one about 1983. A guy here in PA has taken deer with the 50 cal flint model. It has got to be too front heavy for one hand shooting.
They are sort of cool, but also rather rare.
I don't know if the extra barrel length offers much extra range over the Kentucky model. It should but if barrel wall thickness and breech strength limit charges to 40 or 50 grains of powder, the extra barrel doesn't get you anywhere. Maybe better sight radius?
I suppose it wouldn't take too much to fit a longer barrel and underrib to a used CVA Mountain pistol or Kentucky pistol and build virtually the same thing.
