Just got a new Pedersoil Kentucky 50cal, it came with a flash cup, don't have a nipple wrench always used a 1/4 open end wrench had to order one of those ratching wrenches from Possible shop
they said it would work with a flash cup. Once I get the nipple out I will throw the flash cup in with the other stuff that I might need some day

Welcome.

Hold off on orders -- make a list. There may be other things you want/need.

Congrats -- fine, sweet handling, rifle. Be safe. Enjoy!

Great advice on holding off on orders till you KNOW you have all you'll need on the order form, i learned the hard way by paying for shipping repeatedly on account of multiple orders.

Bet thats a beautiful rifle Jerry, Congrats.

Got the nipple out useing the new wrench, also had to use a small hammer to help it. There is no reason to have that so tight comeing from the factory.

It seems that those Italians absolutely love to over tighten nipples. I don't know why. Maybe they have King Kong working on them. I had a brand new revolver that I didn't think I would ever get the nipples out of. I tried all of the various penetrating oils and ended up having to heat the cylinder with a torch after having soaked it in a 50/50 mixture of ATF and acetone. Of course, I removed all of the ATF/acetone mixture before applying the torch. With the cylinder smoking hot and a good wrench, I finally was able to get the nipples out. I don't know what :idunno: numb nuts puts those things in so tight but it is ridiculous.

Don't now if they are still doing it, but Pietta has been putting the nipples in revolver cylinders and then bluing them. Their process makes removing the nipples almost impossible.

Not going to start the Uberti VS. Pietta war, just stating what Pietta was doing in the recent past.

Hmmmm :hmm: For what it's worth, if those Italians are installing the nipples BEFORE bluing the cylinders, whoever came up with that idea had his head in a dark and warm place. :youcrazy: I like their guns but that is one dumb a$$ way of doing things. :youcrazy:
