Hello all,

I just bought a pedersoli kentuky. great gun and shooter. Only thing i dont like is the single trigger.
Anyone know if there is a double set that will drop in without smithing?

Thnx
Eric

According to that link your single trigger is 64.00. I have the blue ridge, same as frontier and my double trigger would be 135.00 for it. Out of sight. Dilly

Dilly,
I also have a Blue Ridge and have checked out that site before. Check the price for a new frizzen. Nothing about these Pedersoli is cheap, but about the only place for parts. Fortunately, I have had to replace anything.......yet :v

:v Parts for Pedersoli all come from:
Beauchamp & Son, Inc
DBA Flintlocks, Inc.
160 Rossiter Road, Richmond, MA 01254
Phone: 413-698-3822

I had a little trepidation regarding my first single trigger also. There are some things you can do to get that trigger smooth and light and you will like it just as much as a double set.

such as?

Single trigger locks may or may not have a "Fly" in the tumbler. Double set triggers require one to prevent the sear from cathing in the half cock.. Check for this before ading a double set trigger IMHO

File down any overhang of the full cock notch on the tumbler that protrudes beyond the sear nose. Some even reduce this to a thickness less than the sear nose for a hair trigger. I am not familiar with the Italian locks, so not sure about the sear nose, some of these are quite narrow and you certainly would not want to shave the tumbler too much. Polish all contacting surfaces with emory cloth including the interior lock plate, sear and tumbler. By simply performing these steps I have solved any heavy triggers I have come into contact with. As stated in another post regarding a Numrich Arms Minuteman, the geometry of the trigger itself can be an issue.
