Now that I am getting old and blinder, never have been shortsighted, hehehe What type of peep sight might I use on a flinter and not get black balled for not ** . Thanks

Some people are going to be critical no mater what, but here is a simple peep made from a 10x32 thumb screw. It is very sturdy and unobtrusive, few people even notice it until they shoulder the gun. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e245/coyotejoe/t-c28-6.jpg
Windage is adjusted by drifting the front sight. Elevation is by turning it into or out from the hole drilled and tapped in the tang. Exact elevation changes depends on the sight radius but with the common 28" barrel, 1/2 turn gives a change of about one inch at fifty yards, two inches at 100.
The jam nut to lock elevation is a "forend nut" from a set of sling swivels and finger tight is adequate.

:shocked2: how simple, saw a thin slot in the top and its an open sight, how about that . Thank you Sir. bob

Some competitions ban closed sights. To prevent the "just cut a slit in the top of it" method they also impose a minimum distance from the eye to the rear sight, forcing you to locate the sight forward of the tang.

Other allow closed sights. You justr have to know what the rules are.
