When I go buy some "stuff" one of the things I will need is caps.
In my .50 T/C Hawken I think I will need #11, right?
Are caps similar to handloading primers, or do they require special handling?
I plan on buying Goex FFg. Does bp require different handling from smokeless powder. Do I need to store it differently?
Thanks,
Jim

Treat the blackpowder and #11 caps just as you would centerfire primers and smokeless powders. Avoid temperature extremes, store in a dry spot away from open flame or heat sources. Do not store in a strong & tightly closed container (better it should blow the doors and sides off easily than creating a huge bomb).

Due to a 3 year old wildthang in our house I store my powder in my gunsafe. I will put the bp and caps there too.
My daughter loves looking at my rifles. She and I both can't wait until she gets bigger. She wants to hold them but I worry about the front sight getting buried in her head.
I help her a little.
Jim
