I just got a pedersoli Kentucky percussion pistol kit. I've looked at the 2 DVDs and tore the box apart. Where are the instructions? Or is there a youtube someone can direct me to. Was there supposed to be written instructions? I have a listing of parts but that's it.

There are no instructions that come with the kit. There is a YouTube video put out by duelist1954 that shows how to put the "flintlock" version of the Kentucky pistol kit. That may help you a bit. Good luck.

Nope, no instructions. I mostly followed dualist1954 videos that olfuzzy posted, he did some modifications I did and some I didn't do. I also printed out the largest picture of a finished Pendersoli Kentucky Pistol I could find online, study it before you start and while you're working on the kit. Most of what you'll deal with is rasping, filing and sanding the stock as pretty much everything is inlet and fitted already. You'll probably have to remove the ramrod pipes, file, sand and polish those, mine were quite rough. If you don't already have one get yourself get a small needle file set, you'll need the triangular one to fit the sights at least I did and some of the others will come in handy also.

Here's the picture I used. I know it's a flintlock but it doesn't matter, everything else that matters is the same with the percussion model, same stock, etc.

Watch the videos all the way through the first time then each one again as you progress. Here's my finished one:

Apparently they believe that most purchasers will be men and thus have no need for instructions until they’ve really jacked it up...

When we (real men that is) reach that point we just hide the unfinished project in the shop and then tell our friends "He must have wanted that real bad didn't even want to wait till I finished it. You wouldn't believe what I got for it!"
