I don't see why not. But,,
Sad to see the common casting pewter is "out of stock"
Also sad to see the cost of that 1/4# at 8.99!!
Your paying a lot for "Lead free", which in my mind is a mute point considering most casting pewter today is 2% lead or less.
I'd do some more source shopping before I spent that much
 
We had best success with melting the beads in a common larger lead ladle , and be sure to liberally dust the area with graphite. We put a heavy card stock around the rifle forearm, heat '
the pewter w/plumbing torch , and pour. File , and sand off the wrinkles , should be , ok.
 
Wonder how old pewter found in junk shops would be, we frequent those occasionally and there is always a bunch of tumblers, plates , pitchers that sort of thing for sale, if it would work it would maybe be a lot cheaper and no shipping costs.
 
I used that stuff from flea markets and done good. Tried melting some a week ago and it melted fine but when I drilled a hole in the pancake I made it broke in two pieces and was very gritty looking like really course sand inside.
