Hello, I was hoping someone had a grip and frame for a Pietta 1860 with a birdshead grip. I was hoping to swap one out on one of mine and have no issue trading for the existing one if someone wants. I’ve seen them for sale in one place but it’s too rich for my blood. Thanks!

I know what you mean on "rich" I got one on ebay. Wasn't cheap but I sold some stuff to defer the my cost. And I've bought from the seller a few times, so he gave me a discount. I'm hoping I'll get it today.

I just can’t wrap my mind around how the normal back strap can be around $60 and the birdshead is over double that. Same with the snubby barrels being much much more than the full length. Heck, if you buy the snubby model with the birdshead you’re paying an extra $150-200 for it.

Understand that. I guess with the shorter barrels it's the DIY. By the time you cut the barrel and add the front sight and loading lever retainer, then find a short loading lever. That's a lot of work. But since some are factory, seems the price should be less. I think it's the popularity of them that drives the price up.
