That is beautiful Anvil. I would love a hawk like that.

Can I ask a stupid question? Do the black powder geeks actually smoke them or are they just show pieces?

You do fine work.

Yes, we all smoke them. Actually we go to Rondys and everyone brings their pipes & we sit at the campfires at night & smoke up 300-400# of tobacco in them.. In fact, that is really the only reason I go as I have several pipes & this way if I pull an all nighter I can smoke them all. :bull:

Very nice work Anvil. Very clean looking & nice color on the walnut also.

Well, being a "black powder geek", I do smoke mine on occasion. It's not the best smokin pipe, but it does smoke. Besides it looks really really really cool hangin on my belt! :blah:

Stuart, that is simply elegant. Very nice.

Sorry fellas, I meant no offence. If I had a piece like that I would smoke it just to try it.

I have read stories of a mixture called 'kinniekinnick' that the plainsmen used to smoke. It was made from berry leaves and bark and other plants that they found at hand. I think the idea behind it was to cut it with pipe tobacco to make their supplies last longer.
