I ran across the pistol in the photos below in a local auction. I know it is a reproduction. Can anyone identify it and tell me the max I should bid?
Thanks.

It's a brass framed Italian replica .36 Colt 1851 Navy with special engraving on frame and barrel. The date code XX9 dates it to 1973.

Without knowing how well it functions it's hard to say what the max bid should be. I wouldn't personally pay much for it (maybe $100) but depends on how much you want it.

Th biggest thing is if it is mechanically sound. Does the hammer come back back to half cock and full cock and the cylinder locks up tight or near tight. Does the hammer drop completely when the trigger is pulled. I wouldn't be concerned with a brass frame if the pistol is mechanically sound and bore is good. Look in the cylinders for for rust. It is worth more than $100 just for parts.
