I have recently bought a 24 pages booklet
" Antique flintlock & percussion pistol patterns "
by Bill Newton , the two first patterns are for
wheel-lock pistol .
I already started the construction of the pistol
on page two , a " Dutch Wheel-lock " ( actually
rather similar to a early 1600 french pistol )

I understand that the pattern show a simplified

I made three wheel lock guns and re-made one from someone elses manufacture. The first one I made I saw a drawing of what the lock looks like. No dimensions. I had to invent my own. The other two were easy. The stock shape came from any pictures I could find. No big deal. I am sorry to admit that I haven't seen the plans you speak of but it is a start. Just as my first one was...That was back in 1964 and i learned a lot since then.. My last one is inlayed with ivory and waiting completion..You will do just fine. I used the chain from a ten speed bike. Plenty strong and small enough to work into any size plate. The cam is the hard part....Good luck....Wulf
