I wish someone would pick up the Whitney again. I also would like to see someone make an Adams or Trantor revolver but they would probably be very expensive.

I just purchased a used Whitney Navy Revolver repro off of Collectors Firearms out of Houston, TX on Friday. The manufacturer was not stated in the add. On their web site the revolver was reported in excellent condition, we'll see. The pictures looked beter than the one I saw at Lodgewood during the N-SSA national in Oct. for the same price. Now the wait. I also purchased a OLD unfired Navy Arms LaMat today one without the engraved cylinder and deep deep dark blue bluing SN 7XX.

A Ruger Old Army but with a longer frame to allow the use of a cylinder that can accommodate a good 50 grains or more of powder and a good conical bullet.

Me too, but those dang things will still rust. I have a Stainless Ruger Old Army that I traded off a fellow member here that shoots very accurately. A previous owner never cleaned it at one time and the bore of that stainless steel pistol is pitted terribly. The rifling is strong though it is pitted also.....Outside is perfect though and the accuracy is there. I suppose I should send it back to Ruger for a rebarrel................Bob

Clements Customs will make up a fifty Old Army.The one they show on the web sight is real nice.Non fluted cylinder and octagon barrel.Sweet.
