Once I finish the Carry the Wind series, I plan to start reading the Plainsmen Series. Is this series a continous storyline, and if so, is this the correct order?

Red Cloud’s Revenge
The Stalkers
Black Sun
Devil’s Backbone
Shadow Riders
Dying Thunder
Blood Song
Reap the Whirlwind
Trumpet on the Land
A Cold Day in Hell
Wolf Mountain Moon
Ashes of Heaven
Cries From the Earth
Lay the Mountains Low
Turn the Stars Upside Down
 
That looks about right without looking. I don't have the last one and will have to pick it up.
 
What's the time period of the series and does it follow along (loosley) with some true events like the Scratch series?

The books in the series I have picked up so far take place in the 1860's-1870's. They cover Custer, Crazy Horse and events from that era.

I'm not sure if it's a continuous storyline or if the books can be read out of order without missing too much.

The series starts just after the Civil War with Red Clouds War and the Fetterman Fight. It covers most of the fights with the plains indians up to the the surrender and murder of Crazy Horse. There is a short excursion into the Modoc war.

The series ends with the Nez Pierce war.

The series is good history with the main character being fictional. He is a participant and an observer. Great series!!!
 
Thanks for the desccriptions, I've seen them but never stopped to really flip through them.
 
Reap the Whirlwind, You sure that one isnt David Thompson? David thompson has the Wilderness series. Over 50 books! I am only missing one.
Buy em while they are still out, a few of mine are out of print and can cost over $150 :shocked2:

The title is right for Terry Johnston. That book is about the Rosebud fight where Crook came close to getting his clock cleaned by Crazy Horse.

I was reading those for a while until I got started on TC Johnstons books. Which one are you missing? I see them quite a bit in used book stores here.

The only one i need is 'season of the warrior"

Hope he comes out with more pretty soon, i havent touched one in over a year now.
