I just snagged a brass frame CVA 31 cal Pocket Remington on Gunbroker. Any of you guys messed with one? It ought to be fun to tinker on & plink with.

I found that the chamber diameters were way too small. I reamed them out to something like .323" and use whatever buckshot that's about .327". Does it help, not sure. I haven't shot it much since.

I saw something like that on another thread. I love to tinker with C&B revolvers(except the POS ASM Walker) so it'll be a fun project.

i bought one when they first came out . i use a.315 rb and 10 grains of fffg blackpowder or pyrodex. it was made by asm

Rats!! I was hoping Pietta. Had a really bad experience with an ASM Walker & have avoided intentionally buying any more ASM's. I have a couple "generic" Italian revolvers which may be ASM tho & they are OK so far.

Pietta makes then also. I ordered a brand new steel frame from Taylors for a friend. Right out of the box it wouldn't work. It seemed like the nipples were too long and with a cap in place the cylinder could not rotate. I think maybe Taylor's gunsmith may have installed the wrong nipples. I got it to work by shortening the nipples but the new owner traded it off without ever firing it. :haha:
They are a very tiny little gun, much smaller and lighter than the .31 Colts. I have a little H&R "Saturday night special" breechloading .32 which is almost exactly the same size, except for 1" shorter barrel.

IIRC all of the CVA marked revolvers I have owned and seen have been made by Armi San Marco. They are usually marked "SM" or "ASM" on the barrels.

The Pocket Remington's are neat looking revolvers.

I bought a new, steel-frame Pietta .31 locally a few years ago, that a close friend talked me out of recently - but B 4 he did, I found it worked & shot pretty decently.

The fit/finish was excellent.

When it was side-by-side with my Old Model .22 Ruger BearCat, one had to look twice because they looked so much alike.

Might have been OK with proper nipples and better sights, or not. Sure is cute though. :haha:
