Just purchased a used TC 45 cal barrel for my Hawken, after taking to the range yesterday I found I could not get it to sight in at 50 yds the barrel grouped fine but with the rear sight adjusted all the way to the left it was still shooting 3 inches to the right at 50yds the bore looks excellent no rust crown looks ok also although it appears the barrel has been shot quite a bit load was 40gr 3f 445rb 017 patch your thoughts appreciated

You might try a max-ball and see if it keyholes. That would mean a bad crown. I beleive if you contact TC and have the targets to show how it is shooting they should help you. As all steel parts are covered. Dilly

Sounds like a bent barrel and TC has sent some out in years past that were not true...I had one myself...if you'll send it to TC they have a laser guided straightening machine that they'll use to adjust it, no charge...or send you a replacement barrel

I've seen that with a couple of T/C barrels, I've had to drive the front sight very off-center to one side and the rear maxed out to the other side just to hit center. The funny thing is you say it appears to have been shot quite a lot. So how was the previous owner hitting anything? :hmm:
