Although not PC correct, has anyone ever electro-polished a barrel bore? I read alot about lapping and steel wooling, cleaning jag with polishing compound, etc. Any thoughts?

Have you ever thought about fire lapping? You take a soft lead bullet and roll it in very fine abrasives. You use a very small charge. The basic idea is to use just enough powder to get the bullet out of the barrel. I guess the down side of fire lapping a muzzleloader is the need to clean the barrel after each shoot. I haven'e done a muzzleloader, but I found the process has improved the accuracy of every rife I have lapped. Just Google fire lapping for information on the process.

Thanks Chronos for the reply. I am famlilar with this process. I have also done plug lapping with an abrasive/lapping charged brass plug.

Looking at electropolishing; it's a process for cleaning up welds. How would this process work on a barrel bore? Or how do you think it should work?
