Hello all. I've been lurking here for awhile absorbing lots of knowledge but this is my first post. I just got my first possibles bag, an October Country "freetrapper" style from Track of the Wolf. I assume the bag is a left hand bag since the adjustment ends up on my chest instead of my back if I wear it on my right side. How big of an idiot/newbie will I be if I wear it like that? I prefer to carry both my horn and bag on my right side. Thanks for your advice.

You do whatever's most comfortable for you and to blazes what anyone else thinks. We all have our own style, it's not right or wrong, just different. :relax: :m2c: :imo:

I bought one of October Country's bags a few years ago and it came left handed, as all of their bags do, but I carry mine right handed like you. I called October Country and they resewed the bag right handed for me at no charge. They were a pleasure to deal with. So give them a call if you don't like the adjustments in the front.

Sooner or later, someone is going to come up and tell you that buckle is "wrong" for the period of your rifle, so it's better that it is in front. 'Cause then you'll have him where you can kick him in the boudoins and tell him to mind his own business.

Hook a little vent pick and pan brush on a small chain and loop it through the buckle or buckle holes, or hang a small two or three-shot ball block from it if you shoot percussion. It will look like you intended it that way all along.

I've got an October Country belt bag that I really like. They do nice work. I dressed mine up a tad by running a double line around the edges of the flap with a grooving tool and doing the same to the belt I hang it on.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. Guess I'll just leave the bag as it is. I'll probably be getting a second bag once I build my flinter, and I'll make certain it is right handed.
