Anyone here have practical experience to offer on grades of powder to use in revolvers and what they obtained in velocities, powder charges versus bullet weights?
I'm thinking about going back to the line of experiments that I was engaged in years ago, checking velocities and penetration of different designs. Not that I have the herd of hogs coming through the backyard like in Texas but it was an interesting study.

Any how, if you have data you've developed for different powders and bullets, then please, jump right in here.

From some of the fun I got into in 2014.
Was testing Jacks Battle Powder in the .41 caliber Pietta replica Remington 1858, shooting into paper that had been soaked under water until the fibers and binder had jellied.

Think I'll start over and test the Ideal #41028 mold and a NEI 185 grain round nose with various powders.

Another that I want to rework is a 1851 frame Pietta .44 with 4 3/4" barrel. Would like to see what's possible in maximizing the weight and velocity from such a stingy little gun.
