I have a piece of blood wood I want to turn on a lathe to make a 'powder horn'. I can't find any hardware to make a dispenser for it at TOW / Dixie.

Anybody got suggestions where I can find some end hardware?

By "end hardware" I assume you are talking about a spout /valve. Dixie does have some valves. If you have a lathe you can make a "plug" easier than the "horn". If you are talking about hardware to fasten a stap on with. Many just use a simple staple like they use on fences or to hold up electrical wires. As to a "dispenser" are you refering to a powder measure? :idunno: :idunno:

Thanks. Sure am glad Al Gore invented the internet.

If it comes out well, I'll post a picture.

I guess a wooden horn wouldn't be traditional, but it's construction will give me a project for those long winter nights that will be here before you know it.

"traditional" is an arguable point.
Make something yerself and it becomes part of yer tradition.
I'm a turner and make many of my own accutrements.
I understand how you will shape the outside but am wondering how you will taper the inside. I guess hollowing tools would do it. We need to see your results.
BTW, it might not be a "horn" but more of a flask. That's OK but don't load directly from it. As for dispensing hardware, a whittled plug of wood stuck in the spout is all you need.
