I know its prob a personal preference thing, but curious what you revolver shooters like and why.

I'm getting everything put together I need for a new revolver my wife gave me.

Thanks

To me it is a convenience thing, not a period correct thought if there is one. I prefer a flask. I don't hunt, so all my revolver shooting is at a range with a loading bench. The flask is quick and easy to dump BP into my measure. The flask stays on the bench away from the firing line.

I'm kinda leaning towards a small powder horn. Mainly to match the horn I use for my rifle. But I can see how a flask would be easier for a revolver.

To many choices....

You are leaning towards appearance for choice selection. That is a good reason to do so, but remember when looks don't count and you want to shoot, a flask will make you happier. You can always get both. One for show n tell and one for shooting. I do encourage a separate measure if using a flask.

I use a flask with revolvers, and do not use a separate measure. You need three hands to use a flask/horn, measure, and gun together unless you are loading near a table.

Always flask to measure to chamber. That flask is also a container full of explosive if you use real Gunpowder.
I know nothing about substitutes just don't use them.
What is another container full of explosive? Oh yes it is called a hand grenade! One tiny spark and by by buddy you will be the honored principle at a closed casket funeral.

Thanks for all of the great advice and sharing your wisdom everyone. I have decided to go with a flask and one of our great members fixed me up with a nice one.
