Well,I finished it yesterday-nothing fancy but it works real fine!!
The one thing I added, was a filling hole in the butt end,got tired of filling from the spout end.
Don't know if I want to chance messing it up by trying some scrimshaw yet.
I'm not very artistic!!!
Next project will be a ball bag.

Just an idea: I was in Tandy Leather looking around at what they had. Being a newbie, I was into costing out their leather for making bags, sheaths, etc. They have one of those real easy kits already made up that is fairly cheap and works well for a ball bag. It has two leather thongs that open it and two that close it. It is an easy and cheap way to make your own.

Zem,
that horn looks good from here. Lot's of room for scrimshaw. Hell I can't even spell artistik but I tried it on a horn and it don't look too bad. Keep it simple and practice scratchin on an extra piece of horn. Pencil in your script on the horn and start with light scratches then go deeper. Look at other horns for examples. Good luck. GW
