Powder Portion Tubes

In a German magazine, "Visier-Special Black Powder" 1999 I saw a nice plastic-box (like MidwayUSA's boxes for cartridges) filled with glass-tubes, closed with plastic-plugs. It seems they have it in small, medium, and large sizes. The companies' name was mentioned in the article but their web-site is "under construction". Three other of the larger German front-stuffer companies had poor to non-sensical web-sites with nearly no accouterments.

A search for this item with american companies resulted in nothing, only Dixie had some plastic-tubes, to be plugged with the bullet (good for rifles, impractical for revolvers).

Does sombody know where to get glass or non-static plastic tubes with plugs suitable for loading .36 and .44 BP revolvers?

Know anybody that works in a lab or is there a hospital nearby> Centerfuge tubes. No idea if they are antistatic, but unless you have a Van de Graf generator running nearby I wouldn't worry about it. I use pill bottles I got from a backpacking store that will hold up yo 120 grs of FFg.

For use with my BP smoothbores, I have a couple different types of what are usually called 'speed shells' made to hold powder in one half, shot (or a bullet/ball) in the other half.

Don't know if it's something you could use but most ML supply houses carry them...when I bought mine they were "Blue & Gray" brand (Oxyoke has now bought out Blue & Gray)

Lot of the guys in the spotsmans club I belong to shoot 30-06 and other large stuff that uses (ugh) "cartridge bullets and smokeless powder". But these guys do have a use...I use their old brass and cut it down to size. Have a 60 & 80 grain for rifle, smaller 25 grain for pistol. They work great and are free. Pour measured amount into shell, see where to cut, cut with a very fine hacksaw and file smooth.:thumbsup:
