Gentlemen, I would like to sell a bayonet in my possession. It was inherited on an 1816 model Remington \ Maynard tape system musket.I believe that it has not been touched since the day it was issued. It is covered in 200 years of grime with very little handling.its been in my family almost 70 years just hanging on a wall with the long arm. It has absolutely NO markings on it.
I feel ,without any researching that 125 $ plus postage would be adequate but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will school me.Thank you for your time
Regards
John

Do you know the muzzle diameter? Width at front of socket, towards blade, ie the trapdoor has a diameter of around .730", the 55-64 Springfield around .780". The blade is 1855 style so bayonet is 156 years old tops. Most replacement bayonets for various arms used the '55 style blade. Best regards, Jaeger

Jaeger,
Not being the least bit mechanical mind you, this is my answers to your query. The inside measurement at the barrel end of this bayonet is 13\16 or 21 mm. Is that an answers that makes sense to you or anyone else?

You have my interest. Pictures are quite dark. Any Pitting? Has the blade been shortened or tip broken
? Should be close to 18". If you site down the blade you can see if it has ever been bent. Once bent the can not be made straight again. Best regards, Jaeger
