The pouch is made from veg tanned cow hide in 3oz thickness, apx 5”X4”, dyed brown with a soldered loop brass button, hand stitched with flax thread and made water resistant with a leather dressing of my own making. The leather has been ‘rusticated’ to give it a head start on aging.
The steel is 2 1/2" inside loop and sparks like a dragon! Comes with a flint shard, hemp fiber and char cloth. Enough to get you up and running for a few fires.
When I'm hunting, hiking or trekking, modern or primitive, I keep a fully stocked flint and steel kit on my person. This one is made to go on the belt and will fit up to a 2 3/4” width belt.
If EVERYTHING goes wrong and the canoe dumps, or Ive lost my gun in a fall or I just want to toast some marshmallows, I still have the ability to make fire and that could be the difference between surviving and pushing up daisies!
This kit costs $40 shipped to conus. I accept checks, money orders, PayPal cleverly concealed cash etc....
I drive long haul truck so it may take me a few days to ship your item as not all post offices have truck parking!
