I'm busy doing my research for whitetail hunting this Fall.
One of the areas that I'm looking into is the Pioneer Weapons WMA in Kentucky. If anyone out there has any reliable info on this hunting area and would care to share it I'm all eyes. I'm no trophy hunter enjoy making meat, but
the quality of the hunt is the real prize. Several years ago, my friend Bruce and I went on a week long hunting trip to the Roanoke wetlands in eastern, NC. We canoed in to our selected area, camped, hunted hard but only seen a few
deer but had a wonderful time. Never seen another hunter the whole week, and that is no minor thing on public game
lands. Enjoy the spirit of the hunt. :)

Pasquinel, that hunt has interested me also. A couple on this forum have been there in the past. Kentucky Bucky for one, I think, I emailed him a few weeks ago but his addy or something had changed and I never got through.
There is a little info on the website for this PW area. I havent ordered a map yet, but it seems to be accessible from a lake and might make a good canoe trip.
I think it could be a refreshing trip if everybody else was carrying sidelocks.
Do a search on the Traditional Hunting section for this subject. The website address is on one of those posts.

I've been looking over both the Daniel Boone NF and the Kentucky DNR website and nowhere can I find any mention that the Primitive WMA is a sidelock only area. It seems that inlines with scopes are also allowed.
I wouldn't travel that far to hunt 7000 acres with Knights and Encores on every tree.
