Provincial/ Militia groups in Eastern/ Central PA?

Good afternoon folks,

As you can see from my post counter I am very new to the forums but I am not new to the world of reenacting. I've reenacted various time periods for several years now but have always held a special place in my heart for the early Colonial period of American history and finally decided I would like to get into the world of F&I reenactment.

I was hoping to find any Provincial or Militia units (or loose association of reenactors) to help guide me in my research and to attend events with.

I've found one group in NJ so far but would like to stay in PA if possible. (NJ's gun laws frighten me to the point where I tend to consider it no-gun's land)

I live around 15-20 minutes outside of Philadelphia but am not shy about traveling to enjoy events on the more western part of the state.

Thank you all for your time and I am very glad to have found this forum and to be getting into the era of reenacting that has been calling me since childhood.

Check with the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation in Ridley Creek State Park, Media, Pa. Link

They have an F&I skirmish coming up on June 21st. I went last year, and it was a fun little event, small-scale, but nice people and a great setting.

There is also Weiser's Battalion located at Weiser's homestead in Womelsdorf pa.
I am currently finishing my kit to join them.

Conrad Weiser Homestead has Charter Day coming up the 8th of March. Look for their Facebook page if you want to find out more about it. It is the biggest event of the year so you could see what the Weiser's Battalion is about.

You need to check into:Donegal Township Militia which are part of the Donegal Township Riflemen and the PA State Regiment. Their militia point of contact is located in Greenville, PA which is NW of Philly, and pretty close.

They are hosting the MAD Tactical this year, which is a 3-Day, F&I, wargame (no tourists) living history event.

So based on your parameters, you owe it to yourself to look at them...
