I'll be camping in RMNP next week and would like to do some shooting while I'm up there. Does anyone know if there is a public shooting range or public lands where shooting is allowed in the area. Thanks. :hatsoff:

Byers Canyon is a great public range a bit west of the park between Hot Sulphur Springs and Parshall. The Buckhorn Skinners club (http://www.buckhornskinners.com) has a club shoot on Sept. 17 at their range south of Masonville east of the park. I'm sure they would be open to a visitor.

There's a shoot in Ft Lupton over the Labor day holiday and one in Ft Lupton the weekend after. Ping me if your interested or go the CSMLA.org for more info
Regards

Loyd, I would be interested except that I am driving up this weekend and back the next. Thanks though. I was hoping for a public range in the area near Estes Park.

You can legally shoot on public land in CO.
Just be safe and you shoulden't have a problem.
Where is the public land?
Go to a forest service station and they sell BLM maps that show forest service and BLM( public land) and private
Have fun and good shooting
:hatsoff:
