To Zonie & ALL,

Pardon me for thinking that a NON-muzzleloading and Century-old and likely "one of a kind" Cape-gun might be "of general interest" to someone other than myself.

Sincerely, satx

I'm sure many of our members would enjoy hearing about a cape gun however forum rule #1 says

"
The focus of this site is "Traditional Muzzleloading"; The history of muzzleloading weapons and battles, up to and including the American Civil War. (From the inception of firearms through 1865)"

This rules out discussions about cartridge guns in all of the forum areas except for the "Non-Muzzleloading" forum that is available to the paid members.

2. I'm NOT sure that the US Customs folks will allow a US citizen to EXPORT "a cannon"

It's not a cannon. It's a piece of iron cast to be in the shape of a cannon. The Dixie Gunworks product is not bored in any way. It's a big piece of iron. Maybe the weight would be prohibitive for shipping, I agree, but not restricted for import or export in any manner at all.

Loyalist Dave,

Would that you were correct about our current regime. = Our current "government by clerks, crooks & jerks" is so anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment and anti- self defense that APPEARANCE is more important than FACTS.
There is also a paucity of "commonsense" in public policy.
(FYI, "The Zero Regime" recently supported a middle school principal from MA, who suspended a fourth grader for bringing a library book to class, which was "a children's history book about the American Revolution" & that had a DRAWING of a Minuteman holding a musket.= According to WOAI AM 1200 Radio News,"a WH spokeswoman" stated this last March that a pin & ink drawing of "a prohibited deadly weapon" MIGHT "promote violence, racism, gender bias, homophobia and other unacceptable public behavior" & therefore was "correctly banned from school premises, under the Zero Tolerance Policy".)

Truthfully, I believe that the political elites have "lost whatever "marbles" that they may have ever possessed.

A personal comment: And you wonder WHY that I'm about to retire abroad??

just my opinion, satx
