so I bought Pyro P for my flintlock pistol.....

no boom no surprise.

so last night after some Bulleit........I got to thinking.

disassembled powder from fireworks mortar shells.

ground carefully till fine this morning.

end result.

flintlock go boom.

keep this in mind if ya run outta powder.

took powder from 4 or 5 inch shell just in case anyone is curious. powder at bottom of shell that goes boom violently and propels them way up into the sky.

I tested a blank load of 20 grns this morn. used a cleaning patch with a small piece if dish towel wadded up in front of it.

think a 30 grain test blank would be safe?????

I have in the past ground P Dex down for pan use. Is it as good as Black? Certainly not. But it works in a pinch.

I couldnt get the P to work in either case and I ground it down pretty fine.

lucky I have year round fireworks place near me!!!!

and yes I've put in an order for Swiss.

30 grains works great for a blank.

sounds like a cannon going off.

been a while since I've smiled that big.
